The cross bars work well. We have a 2016 Mazda CX-5 that came with the rails installed. We bought a couple of kayaks and needed cross bars for the kayak mounts we also purchased on amazon.Installation is pretty straight forward. However, the instructions say to screw the tie down screws until you hear a “click”. I, along with other reviewers never heard a “click” of any type which is kinda unnerving.We took the kayaks on a 200 mile trip, and the cross bars held and functioned perfectly. They look OEM (because they are), so no complaints there. I’m overall very happy with the purchase and the price.Special note: get the field and stream kayak racks to go on these cross bars. Other kayak racks are made for round or square cross bars. These cross bars or elongated ovals which doesn’t mesh well with other “universal” kayak racks. The field and stream kayak racks are made for elongated oval cross bars and fit perfectly with no play.
